Returning to school provided the opportunity to learn how to write more persuasive content as well as how to improve my design skills. I am passionate about continued learning and believe it is needed to adapt to the fluid communications industry. Below are a few samples of my writing and design. Adobe Creative Suite was used to produce the tactics.

I wrote a news release and a feature story as part of an academic exercise to help the Utah Department of Health promote an event designed to educate mothers of teenagers about vaccinations that prevent deadly meningitis.

I was assigned to write a real-life personal profile story. I chose to write a story to promote life-saving organ donations from the perspective of the Kahlen family. I conducted the interviews and researched the topic included in the personal profile story.

As part of a theoretical exercise, I partnered with another student to brainstorm, plan and propose a fundraiser event for the Boys and Girls Club of Utah County's Great Futures after school program. The goal of this event was to generate awareness and support for Boys and Girls Club in Utah County among Utah County families with school children. I designed a poster for the event included in my design samples.
