STRATEGY
My passion for effective communications leads individuals and teams to achieve the results and outcomes they desire. I can help an organization connect with its target audience, or I can help an individual communicate in a way that resonates with his or her intended audience. Below is a small sampling of my strategic results as well as the projects and events I've directed.
Results
As the marketing and communications manager at Dental Select, I implemented a strategy that led to yearly premium growth from $25 million to $54 Million, and a membership growth from 165,000 to 225,000 members.
My strategic communications plan resulted in Dental Select being awarded the Best of State medal in the insurance category three years in a row.
While aligning the communications strategy to promote company executives, I submitted a series of essays which resulted in Dental Select Founder and CEO, Brent Williams, being named an Entrepreneur of the Year Finalist two years in a row.
This strategy was also successful in promoting Suzette Musgrove, Dental Select COO, to be named one of Utah Business Magazine’s 30 Women to Watch. Through my media pitching efforts, she was selected as one of the women featured on the magazine cover.
My strategic communications plan for Dental Select’s corporate social responsibility campaign resulted in earned media articles and news stories in KSL News, The Enterprise, and Sandy Journal. This campaign was also featured in a story on advertising in Utah Business Magazine which quoted me in the article.
Projects
My strategic communications included many projects. Below is a summary of a few projects I managed with examples.
At Dental Select I led the team charged with a website redesign. Although the website may be antiquated today, in 2007 when it was launched, it included state of the art functionality and design. Its launch led to a significant increase in website visitors.
A new advertising campaign was also launched during my time at Dental Select. The strategic messaging was used throughout all printed and electronic collateral.
Events
Planning events is one of the most challenging and rewarding things I have done as a communications professional. I have a passion for effective face-to-face communication with key publics and potential customers. As a marketing and communications coordinator at Ernst & Young LLP, I helped successfully manage two Entrepreneur of the Year Awards Banquets with over 1,200 attendees. Other event planning experience includes managing yearly incentive travel events for over 80 participants, several trade shows and conventions as well as employee and alumni events.
